Dr. Alejandro Cabrera M.

Was born in Quillota, Chile on June 24, 1963.  He studied at the Instituto Marista, Rafael Ariztía, in Quillota. He studied medicine at the University of Chile, at its Valparaiso campus from 1980 to 1987.  He began his General Surgery postgraduate degree in 1988 at the Catholic University of Chile, obtaining the postgraduate degree of General Surgeon and a Masters degree in Surgery, in 1991.  From 1992 to 1996, he completed his Cardiovascular Surgery at the Air Force Hospital.  In 1994 he took Health Organization Systems training courses at the University of Boston, USA.  Ever since the year 1996 he has focused his professional practice on Phlebology; i.e. the study and treatment of veins and their diseases, combining this activity with his work as Emergency Room Surgeon at Clínica Santa María, Clínica Alemana and the Air Force Hospital.  In the year 1999, he founded the Vein Pathology Center (Centro de Patología Venosa), which in the year 2002 became the Veintec Clinic, upon incorporating this practice to the Veintec Group of Clinics in the United States. Currently, he is Medical Director of the Veintec Clinics in Chile and member of Chile’s Surgeon’s Association and international member of the American College of Phlebology, the Societe Francaise de Phlebologie and the European Venous Forum.

Dr. Cabrera spends most of his free time with his family.  He is also a golf player, ranked in Chile’s Presenior ranking and enjoys studying Astronomy.
